Lee was the first to announce the victory to his teacher (Lee Choong-bok) after the award ceremony. Of course, Lee also congratulated his student on his first win.

Lee Bum-yeol learned billiards from Lee Choong-bok for 10 years from 2012 to 2022 when he was a second grader in high school.

"When Lee won the Asian Carom Championship in 2011, I was fascinated by Lee's performance and learned how to play billiards," Lee said in an interview with MK Beliard News earlier. "(He) is very scary when coaching. He always told me to think of billiards."

"I was so happy and rewarded to see Beom-yeol and Geon-hwi win the title one after another," Lee said at the news of his students' victory. "I was as happy as I was to win," Lee said. "I'm grateful to my students for following me as I was educating them hard."
